Vascular Medicine

Vascular medicine seeks to offer solutions to any condition that affects your circulatory system, such as peripheral artery disease (PAD) or deep vein thrombosis (DVT). At Cardiac Associates of North Jersey, our patients have access to a holistic approach that integrates medication management, minimally invasive procedures, and lifestyle changes.

With our advanced, on-site imaging techniques, we are able to precisely identify the extent of damage in any blood vessels, veins, and arteries. Our first-rate team and state-of-the-art equipment ensure only the best treatment outcomes for our patients.

Vascular Conditions We Treat

Some of the vascular conditions our clinicians specialize in include but are not limited to:

  • Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD): This is a lower limb peripheral arterial disease that can be defined as the narrowing of the arteries in your legs or arms. This narrowing usually occurs due to an accumulation of cholesterol and fats in the arteries, making it hard for oxygen-rich blood to reach the limbs (peripherals).
  • Varicose Veins: These are veins that are enlarged, twisted, and filled with too much blood. When the valves weaken or the vein walls lose their tone, blood collects in the vein and causes the ballooning effect of varicose veins.
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): Thrombosis occurs when a blood clot forms and prevents the proper flow of blood through your circulatory system. The clots that form in the larger veins are called DTV.
  • Aneurysms: An aneurysm occurs when an area of the artery wall is weakened, creating a bulge that can rupture the blood vessel if it protrudes too far.

Cutting-Edge & Minimally-Invasive Approach

Our evidence-based treatments use the latest advancements in vascular medicine to provide you with only the best solutions available. With an early return to routine activities and less disruptive procedures, minimally invasive vascular medicine offers life-saving results while prioritizing your safety and comfort.

Non-intensive-surgical vascular treatments promote shorter recovery time, and less pain, with the same successful outcomes.

Vascular Medicine Treatments

The cutting-edge vascular treatments we perform offer effective solutions with minimal health disruption. These include procedures like atherectomy, angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, and varicose vein treatment, among others.

Blood Vessel Obstruction Solutions

We offer multiple minimally invasive solutions to correct blood vessel narrowing and occlusion. Atherectomy helps remove the plaque located within the blood vessels, while angioplasty clears out space with a tiny balloon.

Stents, on the other hand, help open a weakened or narrowed vessel by placing a small mesh tube inside it.

Minimally Invasive Thrombolysis

Thrombosis and other clotting conditions are treated with a catheter-directed thrombolysis. This treatment offers a minimally invasive solution to the dangerous clots that restrict blood flow in veins and arteries. With less downtime and faster recoveries, thrombolysis helps effectively reduce vein narrowing and painful swelling.

Varicose Vein Treatment

Our aesthetic and vascular medicine approach offers spider vein laser treatment to help remove damaged veins. This laser transmits photons that are later absorbed by the blood cells, helping to shrink and eventually dissolve the damaged blood vessels.
